I'm an astronomer, originally from the UK and I've just moved to Germany for a postdoc. I speak very little German (though I am obviously having lessons!) and I've never lived abroad before.
This journal is intended as a way for me to document the moving process. I hope this will involve a lot of "I had to do $requirement and it went incredibly smoothly, isn't the world wonderful" and no "$expletive, who would have thought something so simple could be so complicated", but we shall see.
When I'm not being an astronomer, I enjoy social and competitive ballroom and latin dancing. Dancing is likely to be mentioned a bit here as well.
